If you require a scholarship, or if your school or district is part of a project grant or other special arrangement for your participation, please read and fill out the section below. Note that you must make a request for funding to your school before requesting a scholarship.
Facing History and Ourselves will provide:
- an outstanding professional development experience
- assistance in curriculum planning and other support from a Facing History Program Associate
- borrowing privileges from the Facing History Resource Library (videos, literature class sets, etc.)
- password access to resources to On-Line Educator Resources.
- consultation with school administration regarding wider access to the Facing History program.
Facing History expects the following commitments from scholarship recipients:
- that they plan to use Facing History ideas and resources in the classroom;
- that they plan to use Facing History ideas and resources in the classroom in at least a four-week unit;
- that they agree to participate in a planning meeting or call with a Facing History Program Associate;
- that they agree to share teaching materials with their Program Associate;
- that they request professional development funding from their school.
Participants whose schools are involved in a grant-funded project should discuss project expectations and funding with the Program Associate who contacts them.

After submitting your application, you will be contacted by a Facing History Program Associate to discuss your familiarity with Facing History and your plans for using our resources. If we are able to offer a scholarship, you will be asked to complete a scholarship agreement form that will include your plans for implementation above, and will require your signature and the signature of your principal (or other appropriate administrator) confirming support of your plans.
All participants, except by special arrangement, will need to provide a $50 registration fee (₤25 for the London seminar) before the seminar to hold their place.
Regardless of whether you are awarded a full or partial scholarship, all participants are required to pay a non-refundable administration fee of $50.00.
